e911 Tax is no Issue...

It's an opportunity

If you would like to ad some new accounts tomorrow in TN, SC, or PA this is
your chance! With the new e911 Tax law starting tomorrow many locations will
not have a good answer for this, and many of our competitors won't either.

This issue may be new for many of you, but either way the States of
Pennsylvania, Tennessee and South Carolina are some of the latest states to
adopt this policy as of July 1st.

ECS Prepaid has a tool to help stores in collecting these taxes, as well as
provide reporting to the state. Adding the amount of the tax is a courtesy to
our merchants, ECS Prepaid will not be reporting to the state on their behalf
and we are not drafting their accounts for this additional e911 Tax money.

Just remember that the local taxes still apply and should only be charged on
the original PIN amount. We have set up the rates for all of the current states
we are aware of in the system, but it's important that you educate your
merchants.
To turn on this feature; go into the Store Configuration Wizard. In the Store
Parameters page, you will now see an option to “Disable Tax” and it defaults at
“Yes”. Click the “Edit” button and uncheck the box that states “Don’t collect
tax for this store.” We can mass enable this feature for multiple stores.

The store can be prompted at the time of the transaction about the additional
Tax amount. To do this we will have to flag the store for 6.7 software and then
someone will need to call the store and walk them through a software update.

Here is an example of how the receipt will read:

So while this may have looked like a major issue. I hope that you embrace the
opportunity at hand, and use this latest law as a catalyst to win additional
business.
